HEMP:
THE JEANS
OF THE
FUTURE
COME
FROM
THE PAST

Photography Christophe Bouquet

Hemp was one of the first plants domesticated by man. Over time, it has become one of the pillars of the world economy. In the 17th and 18th centuries, it was used to make sails, rigging, cables, shrouds, ladders, clothing for the sailor man, his Swee’pea and everybody else; paper for his log and weed for his pipe. Hemp was then as essential as oil, which in its own way took its place in the 20th century. This is its return.

Pocket lining, white polycotton.
