This Arpin cushion is made of « Bonneval Fabric », the very first woven cloth produced by Arpin. The wool is purchased from local farms after the autumn shearing. A simple and pure beauty, matched by its alpine strength. Cover sold without the padding.
The Bonneval fabric is used for the traditional dresses of the ‘Compagnie des Guides’ of Chamonix-Mont Blanc.
Made in France by Filature Arpin, one of the last companies to weave their finished products and made-to-measure items from raw animal fleece, and to work on heritage-listed machines. Because we do not go out to conquer the world every day, sometimes we stay at home, Arpin has developed collections for the house: blankets and plaids, alongside their technical materials. These items share the same mission as the woollen ones that equipped the 19th century explorers: protect from the bite of cold and the rest, and make life softer and more beautiful.
For almost two hundred years, Filature Arpin has perpetuated a rare and preserved ancestral know-how. It has received the prestigious “Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant” label.
